Pressing flowers is my passion and candles are my
canvas. Know that by enjoying this candle you are not harming the forest or nature. All materials are collected with long
term preservation in mind.
-
Take only what will serve you and never
deplete any habitat.
-
Respect nature, leave conditions better
than they are found.
-
Quietly enjoy the sounds of nature.
Preserving blossoms and plant materials have been
a tradition before Victorian times. Historians and Scientists have used preserving techniques that are still in use today
to record and study plants.

Me
I was raised in the southwestern mountains
of Virginia, where I spent time traipsing through the woods and learning to appreciate the beauty of nature. Interest in flowers
and nature comes honestly through my family. My mothers extensive gardens in Virginia contribute many of the blossoms in my
designs. She taught me the names of most every plant known.
Before her my Grandma and Great Grandma, were
gatherers of things in nature. I am told that my Great Grandma would just throw a bunch of weeds together and make some sort
of arrangement out of nothing. My Great Grandmother's knack for being a gatherer has found its way to me. I never had the
honor to know her however I too have the knack for finding and saving nature.
The designs and the beauty in each petal
or leaf fascinate me. Many different floral arrangements can be found - some are purely nature at its finest and others are
quite complex. I believe that my designs reflect a simple beauty. Beauty as it is a part of each whole thing whether
it be a human being or a beautiful candle, BellaCandela.
